Dr. Richard Routhe
Owner & Chief Veterinarian
Dr. Rich Routhe is the Owner and Chief Veterinarian of Arden Shoreview Animal Hospital. After many years of practicing Veterinary Medicine in the north suburban area, he pursued his dream of building a progressive, state-of-the-art animal hospital that would provide the highest quality medicine in a caring environment. His dream is to cater to individuals and families who want the “Best Animal Care by People Who Care".
Dr. Rich lives in Shoreview with his wife Louise, their twin boys Christopher and Tyler, and their two cats Pepper and Rocky. He is a member of North Heights Lutheran Church. His hobbies include flying, golfing, boating, and traveling. Dr. Rich is passionate about providing the best care to his patients, the best service to his clients, and the best working environment for his staff.
Dr. Lisa Westgard
Dr. Lisa Westgard has been with ASAH since June of 2003. Dr. Westgard is originally from Duluth, and spent many summers in Washington State as a park ranger before choosing veterinary medicine as a career. Her first job involved working with large and small animals in Mora, MN. After her first child was born, she chose to focus exclusively on small animals. She works on a part-time basis at ASAH to spend as much time as possible at home with her husband, Tony, and four children: Henry, Tommy, Mae, and Elise. Dr. Westgard and her family enjoy vacationing in Duluth and Hayward, Wisconsin. They share their home with their new labrador Miss Betty Bacon Bits.
Dr. John Collister
Dr. John Collister has been with Arden Shoreview Animal Hospital since 1995. He works full-time as a Professor at the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota. He enjoys working part-time in an animal hospital where he can serve clients and their pets. He also thinks it makes him a better teacher for our future veterinarians. John is married, has three girls, two dogs, and a cat.
Dr. Jenny Mayaka
Dr. Jenny Mayaka came to ASAH in June 2018. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the U of M in 1999. Since then she has been working hard as a small animal veterinarian in the Twin Cities Metro area. She also spent 3 years teaching Veterinary Technology at a local college. Dr. Jenny enjoys forging bonds with all of her patients and their people. She has special interest in cats, dentistry, and surgery. When she is not working, she loves relaxing, reading, and spending time with her family. Her husband George, 2 teenage daughters Isabel and Ivy, along with one very sassy Sphinx named Sally, keep her very busy.
