Dr. Richard Routhe
Dr. Rich Routhe is the Owner of Arden Shoreview Animal Hospital. After many years of practicing Veterinary Medicine in the north-suburban area, he pursued his dream of building a progressive state-of--the-art animal hospital that would provide the highest quality medicine in a caring environment. His dream is to cater to individuals and families who wanted the best "Animal Care by People Who Care".
Dr. Rich lives in Shoreview with his wife, Louise, their twin boys, Christopher and Tyler, and their three cats, Sasha, Pepper, and Jack. He is a member of North Heights Lutheran Church. His hobbies include flying, golfing, boating, and traveling. Dr. Rich is passionate about providing the best care to his patients, the best service to his clients, and the best working environment for his staff. "Animal Care by People Who Care" is not just a motto, it's who we are!
Dr. Seth Cohen
Dr. Seth Cohen joined Arden Shoreview Animal Hospital in late 2016. He recently moved-back to the Twin Cities area with his wife. Dr. Cohen is our new Medical Director and will be helping Arden Shoreview Animal Hospital to grow and improve our services to our wonderful clients.
Dr. John Collister
Dr. John Collister has been with Arden Shoreview Animal Hospital for 22 years. He currently works full-time at the University of Minnesota as an Associate Professor. He still enjoys working in a clinic where he can meet clients and their pets, so he works at Arden Shoreview Animal Hospital every other weekend. John is married and has 3 kids.
We have 3 veterinarians that work at Arden Shoreview Animal Hospital on an as-needed basis. They were previously full-time doctors here, but have ventured-out into their own fields.
Dr. Lisa Westgard has been with ASAH since June of 2003. She has a particular interest in hunting-dog medicine, behavior, and emergency medicine. Her family consists of her husband, Tony, and four children: Henry, Tommy, Mae, and Elise.
Dr. Sandra Soucheray has her own mobile veterinary service called "Dr. Soucheray's At Home Veterinary Care." Dr. Sandra loves working with our clients and we do refer some pets to her that do better at home. Dr. Sandra has 2 children and keeps very busy with her mobile veterinary service. Dr. Kendra Dauenhauer also works at the University of Minnesota in the Urgent Care unit. She keeps a very active veterinary career there, but also has a little girl at home. Dr. Kendra is amazing with our staff and clients. Her presence is always welcomed and enjoyed!
Angie Feeney, Head Certified Veterinary Technician
Angie graduated as a Veterinary Technician in 2003. She then became Certified and worked as a CVT in South Minneapolis for 11 years. Angie has a strong interest in dentistry, but loves all the different aspects of caring for animals. Angie joined the Arden Shoreview Animal Hospital team in the fall of 2015 and is looking forward to many more years of helping animals and their people at ASAH.
Angie grew-up in Forest Lake, but has lived in Minneapolis for over 20 years. She is happily married to
her husband, Peter, and they currently have three cats, named Misery (don’t let the name fool you, he is a big happy boy!), George, and Fifi. She enjoys reading, gardening, and going on camping and hiking trips with her husband.
Chelsea Gulla, Veterinary Technician
Chelsea began working at ASAH in late 2016. She has been a great addition to the Arden Shoreview Animal Hospital team. We enjoy her kind personality and hope that our clients do as well.
Her family consists of a dog, a cat, birds, fish, and a lizard.
Vanessa Hauge, Certified Veterinary Technician
Vanessa began working at ASAH as a full-time CVT in the spring of 2009. Over the years, her love of veterinary nutrition sparked her interest enough to return to school in pursuit of becoming a human registered dietitian. She loves her animal time, so she continues to work on the weekends as a CVT at Arden Shoreview Animal Hospital.
Vanessa's family consists of her husband Brok, Mr. Boo Jefferson the cockapoo, Sloane Gin Fizz the pitbull, Captain Chowder Fezziwig the cat, and Squirt the Russian tortoise. Vanessa enjoys biking, gardening, training for marathons, skiing, and renovating their house.
Sophia Hoopman, CVT, Office Manager
Sophia graduated as a Veterinary Technician in 2008. She had worked as a Veterinary Assistant for 1 year at a small animal clinic in Minneapolis while attending school, then became a full-time CVT in 2008 at a clinic in Brooklyn Park. She stayed there for 3 years until she decided to try animal research. After 1.5 years in the research world, she decided to go back to the small animal clinic in Brooklyn Park, where she became Head CVT and eventually Office Manager. Sophia obtained her Bachelor's degree in 2013 for Human Resources and was looking to utilize this degree more within the veterinary field. Sophia joined the Arden Shoreview Animal Hospital team in November 2015 as an Office Manager and has been working hard to help the hospital and team grow.
Sophia is married and has 2 young boys, Rayne and Damon. Her animal family consists of her dog Shiro and her two cats, Rusty and Baby Girl. Shiro is a heartworm surviver. It is due to diligent testing and treatment that he is the wonderful dog he is today. Sophia enjoys going-out to dinner and movies, reading, and crocheting.
Kathie Hipps, Client Services Representative
Kathie joined ASAH in the spring of 2000. She had previously managed a veterinary clinic in New York for four years, and has also been a phlebotomist for the American Red Cross. The close relationships and familiarity with clients are Kathie's favorite aspects of working at ASAH.
Kathie's furry family consists of her cats, Frank and Mo. Kathie enjoys doing renovations on her home, reading, knitting, and shopping. Kathie now works part-time at ASAH as a Client Services Representative.
Raeh K, Client Services Representative
Raeh joined ASAH in late 2016. Raeh received her veterinary assistant certificate in 2014. Prior to joining our team she was a preschool teacher and worked as a Receptionist at another veterinary clinic. Her furry family consists of her puppy "Molli".
Louise Routhe, Hospital Administrator
Louise has an extensive history of working in Human Resources for many large corporations. Louise became the Hospital Administrator in the 1990s and she handles the business portion of Arden Shoreview Animal Hospital.
Louise has been married to Dr. Richard Routhe for many years and they have twin-boys together.
